The Vth Russian Science Festival

The tradition of Science Festivals was established by United Kingdom many years ago. British Science Festivals evolved out of the society's annual meetings, which were originally meant to provide a discussion forum for scientists, but later became a public showcase of science because scientists realized the importance of explaining to everybody what is happening in laboratories and how research changes the quality of life. The role of Science Festivals especially increased nowadays since the world leading states associate their future with an innovative way of development.

The First Russian Science Festival was held in 2006 in Lomonosov Moscow State University. Because of the successful experience of the First Russian Science Festival in 2007 it developed into the great celebration of science in Moscow.

The IVth Science Festival happened in 2009. It has been met with a great interest as well as in previous years. Total amount of visitors was about 200 000 and about half of them visited the main exhibition areas in Moscow State University.

It was the first time when festival events took place in science centers while a great interactive exhibition was organized in Expocenter (International exhibition center in Moscow). During three days around 30 000 people visited exhibition areas in Expocenter. Dozens Universities, Institutes of Russian academy of Sciences, Museums of science, international Universities and other organizations became participants of Science Festival. The geography of IV Science Festival includes more than 80 addresses in Moscow and lots of events in Ufa, Tomsk and Samara.

At the present time we are preparing the program for the Vth Science Festival and we would like to invite your University to take part in the Festival. We would be very glad to provide you with the booth (for free) to perform scientific achievements of your University.
